To Those Devoted to the Pursuit of Reading:
We would like you to join us in considering a new web portal designed for avid readers.
Our hope is that you will agree to learn a little more about DelMio.com – a new digital service designed to encourage reading by extending the experience of a book beyond the final chapter.
DelMio has been created by a group of journalists from the former Knight Ridder Newspapers.
DelMio offers a rich multi-media online experience for those who love books – including author interviews, monitored live discussions with experts, the opportunity for libraries to share programming by rebroadcasting events online, opportunities for book lovers to connect in virtual settings with appropriate screening in place, and much more.
We invite you to take a look at www.delmio.com. We will be approaching you soon, with the hope you will want to know more about how we can serve you. Thank you.
Diane Evans

What is DelMio?

We get asked a lot: What is DelMio?
Well, the question should really be: Who is Mio?
Mio is a young girl who provided the inspiration, creativity and drive that created this site.
She is endlessly inquisitive.
She reads voraciously.
She writes.
She sings.
She plays piano.
She dances.
People are drawn to her.
She is the light in any room.
She is also a memory. Mio was DelMio founder Diane Evans’ cousin. They grew up a few blocks from each other in a quiet Akron neighborhood. Then Mio contracted a terrible disease and died at a very young age.
As we went around and around searching for a name, the story Diane told about Mio kept sticking in our heads. Finally, we said, let’s just name it after someone who embodies all the qualities we want in this site.
And so…DelMio…A bit of Mio.
