Approximately three dozen books from the short-lived Cleveland Clinic Press have been acquired by Kaplan Publishing, giving Kaplan a quick expansion into medical trade publications.
(Full disclosure: DelMio.com and SunLit Communications have had business dealings with the Cleveland Clinic Press in the past. See Delmio.com Explorations of Tango and You CAN Eat That!)

Publishers Lunch reported the disbandment of the Cleveland Clinic Press’ small staff last year, and follows with this report:

“Kaplan president and publisher Maureen McMahon says in the announcement, ‘Last spring we began looking to expand our trade publishing program and this move allows us to put our publishing muscle behind the impeccable brand of the Cleveland Clinic and its amazing medical expertise.’ ”
