Hey, Batman fans (admit it, you’re a little batty over Batman), just in time for the movie “The Dark Knight” comes The Essential Batman Encyclopedia.
This 400-page tome includes the history of one of comicdom’s greatest legends, and it profiles the major characters in Bruce Wayne/Batman’s universe from foes such as the Joker and Two-Face to faithful friends including Robin and Commissioner Gordon.
The Batman character has been expressed in many iterations, from comic book tough guy, silly TV show and animated series (some not so silly) to the celebrated Dark Knight graphic novel series to movies serious (Batman Begins) and preposterous (Batman and Robin)
Author/editor Robert Greenberger is eminently qualified for the job; he’s a former DC Comics editor and certified (well, figuratively) Batman scholar.
Now nearly 70 years old, the Batman phenomenon has been rejuvenated with Batman Begins and now The Dark Knight. The Essential Batman Encyclopedia documents that history. Don’t leave the Batcave without it!
