Book Basics - About the Author - Other Information - Talk About the Book
“When a 6-year-old boy thinks like a grown man, they call him a child prodigy. But what’s the best way to describe a grown man who thinks like a 6-year-old boy? That’s the problem my wife faces every time she has to introduce me.”
So begins Alan Katz’s autobiography at his Web site, www.alankatzbooks.com. The author has spent 25 years writing for television (and bagged some Emmy nominations) — including five years of parody song writing for the Rosie O’Donnel Show, Taz-Mania, Disney’s Raw Toonage and Goof Troop. He’s also plied his comedic craft on several editions of the Grammy Tony awards, Kids Are People Too, and lots of Nickelodeon projects including Whoopi’s Littleburg, network specials and game shows.
His work has appeared in more high-brow (read: less fun) publications such as the New York Times and the New York Daily News.
He’s also created hundreds of comic books, trading cards and other special projects for kids and their parents.
In real life, he has four children — Simone, Andrew, Nathan and David — and a wife, Rose. They live in Fairfield County, Conn.
As a special bonus, Katz entertains invitations to speak at schools, libraries and other book-centered events to the delight of parents, kids and anyone else with a slightly silly bent. You can reach him at alankatzbooks@aol.com.
