Paper or Plastic?

In this case, both.
A new electronic reader is being developed, this time with newspaper readers in mind. Plastic Logic is the company behind the new lightweight device, which the New York Times reports will have a screen that is 2.5 times the size of Kindle, a leading electronic reader on the market now. Will this be the savior that newspaper publishers are hoping for as newsprint and transportation costs soar and advertising revenue plummets?
More announcement will come at the beginning of 2009, and the reader is expected to go on sale in early 2009.
The New York Times reports that the device will look, if not exactly feel, like a newspaper.
Says the Times: “Richard Archuleta, the chief executive of Plastic Logic, said the display was big enough to provide a newspaperlike layout. ‘Even though we have positioned this for business documents, newspapers is what everyone asks for,’ Mr. Archuleta said.”
